Father’s Day Sermon: Every Choice Matters

Main Scripture Text:
Deuteronomy 6:4–7 (ESV)
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

Legacy Choices

1. Love God Deeply

Deuteronomy 6:5 - "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."

David’s strength wasn’t in his sword, it was in his song.

David wasn’t just a warrior, he was a worshipper first.

2. Teach Truth Diligently

Deuteronomy 6:7a - "You shall teach them diligently to your children…"

Passivity as a father always passes down pain.

Diligence isn’t passive,...it’s protection, correction, and connection.

3. Lead by Example Consistently

Deuteronomy 6:7b - "…talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

Children notice when words and actions don't align.

Consistency in your faith doesn’t mean perfection, it means honesty and daily pursuit.

Your kids won’t remember every Bible verse, but they’ll never forget how you lived.
